It also overcomes the problems of ‘clouding’ qualification numbers arising from several AOs delivering the same or very similar qualifications.
You may have seen this in FE Week. The Traineeship budget is being put back into AEB; it was previously top-sliced, so no extra funding. This means that MCA and others with delegated AEB have more funding flexibility of how they get FE Colleges to deliver. DfE are still working out all the detail so we will not know much more until some time this year.
On 21 April fenews carried a story headed ‘Switching goal from football to the construction industry’ It is a story about Haaroon Belaid, who had played for Charlton Athletic and Bishop Stortford but now studies the Built Environment at Barking & Dagenham College.
