New National Secretary Elected
Dave Love has been elected as the new national secretary.
The NEC Secretary is responsible for supporting the effective governance and administration of the NEC by ensuring meetings are organised, agendas are prepared, minutes are recorded, and governance records are maintained.
Working closely with the National Chair, National Vice-Chair, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Regional Chairs, the NEC Secretary plays a key role in ensuring that the Committee operates efficiently, transparently and in accordance with the BACH Constitution, NEC Terms of Reference and Articles of Association.
Dave is Head of Apprenticeships for Construction and Engineering at Wigan & Leigh College and National Secretary of the British Association of Construction Heads. He has extensive experience in further education, apprenticeships, technical education and construction skills, with a strong focus on curriculum development, quality assurance, employer engagement and improving outcomes for learners.
In his current role, Dave leads apprenticeship provision across construction and engineering, working closely with curriculum teams, assessors, employers and sector partners to support apprentices from recruitment through to achievement. He is passionate about ensuring that apprenticeship programmes are high quality, inclusive and closely aligned to industry need.
Dave also plays an active role in the Northwest Construction Technical Excellence College network, supporting regional collaboration between colleges, employers and wider sector partners. As part of this work, he leads a curriculum development group focused on Foundation Apprenticeships, helping to support colleges across the Northwest to share practice, develop curriculum approaches and prepare for successful delivery.
