Today (15 January) DfE and Ofqual have launched two consultations:
• GCSE, AS and A Level awarding in summer 2021
• alternative arrangements for the award of VTQs and other generals in 2021
Ofqual has also released a blog by Simon Lebus Chief Regulator requesting views on the consultation.
All awarding organisations are encouraged to respond to the consultations, especially to the regulatory impact assessments.
Please communicate carefully with your centres – be clear about position of these as PROPOSALS, not firm arrangements. And of course, education will continue.
The arrangements that we have put in place over the last 9/10 months –the Extraordinary Regulatory Framework and the Extended ERF – have been successful in enabling hundreds of thousands of results to be awarded to VTQ learners during the pandemic. This continues to be our overriding focus.
